Support

Questions, problems and anything the app got wrong.

We read everything. Telling us your phone model, the app version from Settings, and what you expected to happen gets you a useful answer faster.

A scan read my ticket wrong

Correct it on the review screen — every field is editable, and the corrected numbers are what get saved and checked. Tickets vary a lot between states, so corrections are the main way the app gets better at reading them. If you have turned on Improve scanning in Help, your correction is shared with us anonymously; see the privacy policy for exactly what that sends.

If a ticket will not scan at all, flat light and a straight-on angle help most. You can always enter the numbers by hand instead.

I bought something and it did not unlock

Open Settings › Restore Purchases. That asks the App Store or Google Play for anything your account already owns and re-applies it. A purchase can also take a few minutes to clear if you paid by a method that settles later.

Restore is also how you bring your purchases to a new phone — sign in to the same App Store or Google Play account, install Captain Lotto, and tap Restore Purchases.

I have a support code

Enter it at the bottom of Settings. Codes are not used up when you redeem them, so the same code works on your other devices, and Restore Purchases will bring that access back after a reinstall or a phone upgrade.

Refunds

Purchases are handled by Apple and Google, so refunds go through them rather than us — on iPhone via reportaproblem.apple.com, on Android via the Google Play order history. Tell us as well if something did not work; we would rather fix it.

How do I delete my data?

Nearly everything lives on your phone. Settings › Scan photos clears saved tickets and sets how long photos are kept, and deleting the app removes the rest. There is no account to close, because there is no account. The privacy policy covers the one optional feature that sends anything to us.

Playing responsibly

Captain Lotto tracks tickets and helps a group organise a pool. It does not sell lottery tickets and never handles money. If playing has stopped being fun, the National Problem Gambling Helpline is free, confidential and available 24/7 at 1-800-522-4700.
